“I’m keeping you warm.”

“I’m fine.”

“That’s why your teeth are chattering.” He heard her huff and stiffen against him, though she didn’t move away.

“I was fine.”

“You fainted, Destiny. You’re not fine. I’m trying to keep you warm.”

“Is that the reason your dick is pressed against my ass and is hard?”

Oh, it was definitely one of the reasons. The main reason was that she always made him hard. It hadn’t mattered what they were doing and he wanted her. She had that effect on him.

“The one place we never had a problem was in the bed…hell or anywhere else we decided to fuck, Des.”

“Do you have to be so crass, Jackson?”

“It wasn’t too long ago that you loved my crassness.”

“Things change, Jackson.”

“Things change yes, and as they say…the more they stay the same.”

“I’ll just see if I can get one of our private planes to pick me up at the strip.”

He flew his own planes, so they had a private airstrip on the land surrounding the cabin. He shook his head. “I’m sure you realize that a storm came in behind you? Well, from the reports on the radio this is going to be a bad one and we’re going to be good friends for at least a week.”

“Fuck.”

He laughed. “Is that all you can say?”

“It’s all that’s needed to be said in this situation. I don’t want to be here, you don’t want me to be here. So, what else is there to say but fuck?”

“I know what you’re thinking, Des.”

“Do you? Cause, you sure didn’t when we were married.”

It was a low blow and old complaint and it seemed she’d been holding it in for a long time.

“Is that really necessary?” Jackson watched as she turned her head slightly to look at him.
