My Writing Process Blog Tour!

Welcome to My Writing Process Blog Tour!  I was invited to play along by my wonderful friend Elyzabeth M. VaLey.  She did this very thing last week and you can find her post here: http://www.elyzabethmvaley.com/. At the end you will see the other authors that I invited to participate after me.  I was supposed to pick three…but as always I had to go above a little and I picked four!

So follow me into the way my crazy Muse works: I was asked four important questions:

1)     What am I working on?

 2)     How does my work differ from others of its genre?

 3)     Why do I write what I do?

  4)     How does your writing process work?

Okay for the first question of what am I working on.  To answer that I’d have to say what am I not working on!  Whew!  I am constantly working on stories.  I love writing and since getting my first contract in March 2012 I have been writing like mad and will continue to do so.  I write contemporary, paranormal right now and have plans to go into other genres. I like to see women that resemble me so I write Interracial romances. Though that doesn’t mean I haven’t done other combinations besides bw/wm.  I have written f/f, m/f, m/m/f etc but no matter the gender combinations or racial combinations it all boils down to love.
Second question is how does my work differ from others in the genre?  Hmm that’s a toughie.  I mean if you really think about it in any genre there is an overflow of talent running around.  For myself personally I like to write the things that I like to see. I try to be different by I try to take a usual plot and make it my own through my characters.
Third question is why do I write what I do?  I love romance, but most importantly I love it when I can create characters and their worlds in which they have problems and that problem is overcome because of their love for one another.
Hmm now the fourth question is a bit of a tough one.  My writing process varies as I have a full time job, two kids who are still little, a eight year old and a ten year old.  I have to write where and when I can. I can multitask with the best of them. Meaning I can write while there is a ton of stuff going on in the background. Kids, music, television…you name it, doesn’t bother me. There are the times though, that I need absolute quiet to write.  This is few and far between for me but it does happen.  I sometimes get images of the characters and name them and build from that. Other times I get the title first or a story idea.  It’s never the same process but it does have the same end result.
Plain and simply put…I LOVE WRITING!
Now for introductions of my fellow authors I’ve chosen to follow in My Writing Process footsteps:

From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention.

She knew who it was instantly.

Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.

Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. He’d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someones—a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almost…predatory. Was he following them?

Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didn’t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.

Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldn’t focus on her cousin.

Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple.

The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.

Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow.

From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman.

As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the woman’s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.

“Did you see that?” Raine asked.

Jane glanced at her. “See what?”

She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.

“What is it, Raine?”

Her cousin wasn’t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might see…and blinked.

There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.

“Did you mean the couple getting engaged?” Jane asked. “Oh yes, it happens all the time here.”

Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

Hearts On Fire Valentines Hop

I wanted to do something a little different from just talking about Valentines Day or a

Valentines Day story…I wanted to discuss how I see love. I write interracial and multicultural romances. As my tagline says “Where Love Is Colorblind.”  I truly believe that love is colorblind or it should be.  We are all human and the color of your skin, where your from shouldn’t matter.  I will even go as far to say that, that even transcends to gender.  In this blog hop I will be giving away a book from my backlist excluding the print books.  If the winner (from my blog) picks a series…please pick the first book in the series.  In order to win you must comment on the blog post and share this post on Facebook and twitter.  If you don’t have twitter just let me know within your comment.

Grand prize is a heart pendant with a 20 carat lab ruby and 14k gold chain PLUS signed paperbacks from each author  – entire series by Victoria and Kym.  Now on to the post…

First and foremost I want to say interracial romances are still just romances. They have the added flavor of bringing different races together but when you peel back the layers it should still have all the elements of a regular romance story.

One thing that I think of when is to remember the history of interracial relationships. Is the marriage of Richard and Mildred Loving. They married in 1958 when it was illegal to do so. Interracial marriages didn’t become legal until 1967 and sadly enough the last state that held on till 2000 was Alabama.

So when one thinks of that and writes IR it’s still brand new territory.

Why do I write Interracial Romances?

I think there are several reasons people choose to write them. There isn’t truly an easy answer or a right answer. I do it because I wanted to see myself in a heroine. I have been involved in interracial relationships since I was a teen. My parents were military and we didn’t ever see anyone’s color we saw the person beneath the skin. I also like writing interracial love because I have two small biracial children who need to see people that represent who they are in love.

I’d also like to add that there is so much flavor when you pepper a story with people from different cultures. I also hope that my characters always show that they are true to themselves and through their conflict there is growth.

I have several books which feature a black woman and a white male but I’ve also written where my male characters are Latino. I even went outside of the box and wrote a lesbian couple who were a black female and a white female. To me love sees no color right along without seeing someone’s gender.

Happy Valentines day to all!

Her serene expression stole his breath. “You can’t hide from me, Aiden. I see you.”

“You see me?” He grabbed her hand and twisted it behind her back, exerting pressure without hurting her. Her pulse fluttered in her neck. “Trust me now?”

“Yes.” She lifted her chin.

“Spread your legs and lift up your skirt.”

Her hands shook as she bunched up the cloth and held it to her upper thighs.

“Higher, I want to see your panties.” Her eyes grew round and her lips parted. Her shallow breathing excited him. With her dress around her waist, she revealed a lacy pair of black bikini underwear. “Oh, black panties, were we hoping something would happen?”

She bit her bottom lip and looked down.

“Look at me.”

She lifted her heavily lidded eyes.

“Now answer me.”

“Yes.”

“Good girl.” He walked over to her and trailed a finger down her front. “Damn baby, you’re soaked. Do you like being told what to do?”

“I don’t know.”

“What do you say we find out, sweetheart? Are you willing to play with me?”

She nodded, and he grinned. “Turn. Place your hands on the wall.” The silky smooth skin beckoned and he trailed his fingers down her arms. She shuddered. He reached around to caress her through the lace, now slick with her dew. The contrast of rough and wet made him ache.

“You really like this, don’t you Sunshine?” He bent, nipping at the sensitive skin on her neck until he found the groove between her neck and her shoulders, and sank his teeth in deep.

“Oh!” She jerked back toward him. He yanked up her dress and grabbed his prize.

“I promise I’ll replace this.” His other hand joined its twin and he yanked, ripping the delicate lingerie apart like a sheet of paper. “And this has to go. Lift your arms.” They worked in tandem, ridding her of the dress. He ran his hands down her body, skimming over every curve of her velvet skin until he reached her inner thighs. With slow, gentle motions, he drew circles with his fingernail, getting closer and closer to her blistering heat, only to pause and retreat. Her muscles tensed. Moans spilled from her throat, an erotic solo in his bedroom.

“Tell me what you want, Mya.”

“Touch me.”

“Where?” He moved the circles to her outer thigh. “Here?”

“No,” she said, her voice higher than usual.

He moved his circles to the sensitive flesh behind her knee and she squirmed. “Here?”

“No.” Gravel crept into her tone.

“So tell me, Sunshine.”

“On my pussy.” She jumbled the words in her rush to get it out in one breath. Normally he’d push it further, make the woman beg for the pleasure he could deliver. With her, he wanted different things. Sweet, slow, and sappy. No. She was a mystery he needed to unravel. He’d get her out of his system, accept her help, and walk away. Frustrated, he slid a finger inside her pussy and groaned. Her walls held him prisoner in a tight embrace. “Oh, you are so tight.” He pumped fast. “Hot and wet.” He added another finger and crooked them into a hook.

“Oh, shit!”

“You’re going to come screaming my name, Mya. I want you to break into a million pieces.” He brought his other hand up and roughly massaged her breast. Her head fell back to rest against him, and her hips moved with his rhythm.

“That’s it baby, let go.” Her muscles fluttered and he grinned, pinching the dime-sized nipples that protruded through her bra.

“Aiden.” She came apart, sucking his fingers into her greedy sheath as she clamped her thighs together. Streams of hot liquid coated his fingers. Ravenous, he pried her legs open, and brought his fingers to his mouth. The honeyed musk made him purr like a jungle cat.

“You taste even better the second time around.” Rested against him, lax, satiated, and trusting, she fucked with his mental space.

“I’m nowhere near done with you.” He spanned the area of her waist and lifted her easily, placing her on the edge of the bed.

“W-what.”

“Spread your legs wide and show me your pretty pink inside, Mya. I want you to come again in my mouth while you’re fucking my tongue, then we’ll move on to my dick. You’re not leaving here until you’ve been thoroughly ravished.”

“Oh my God.”

“I prefer the name Aiden.” He winked and she laughed.

“I don’t…is this too fast? We haven’t even been on a date, and I’m about to be spread-eagle on the bed.”

“Yes, you are.” His voice dropped, and her lids fell to half-mast. “Do you think a night out would make this outcome any different?” He knelt in front of her, massaging her thick thighs in his hands. “What’s between us is potent. Holding out would be a moot point. We’d end up here regardless.” He gripped her inner thighs and spread them. “Now, do as I say, so I can give us both what we want.” He ran his finger down the center of her cleft. “And need.”

Excerpt:

“What brought you to town, Ciara?” Nate asked. His gaze wandered over her face. Her nose dipped just slightly giving her a delicate look. Her lips were full and pouty, perfect for wrapping around his cock. Fuck! I need to get my head on straight. It hasn’t been that long since I’ve been laid. But it had been that long since he’d wanted so desperately to be laid by a particular female. In fact, this may have been the only time he could remember feeling only one female could bring him the release he needed, and that female was her. Every ounce of him, body and soul, told him Ciara was his mate.

“A change,” she said, softly, finally looking away from him.

“A change from what?” he pushed.

“A change from my family,” she said, opening the cooler and apparently checking the stock.

“What’s wrong with your family?” Nate asked. “Jack’s a great guy.” Shutting the cooler door, she turned to face him. Placing her hands on the counter, she leaned in closer to him. Her scent enveloped him and he had to bite his lower lip to keep from growling.

“Uncle Jack’s not the problem. He’s the reason I stayed in Florida. Otherwise, I’d have headed out west to get clear of my money-grubbing father and stepbrother,” she said, looking him straight in the eye. “You’re quite the nibby-nose!”

“Just like to know who’s pouring my beer,” he said with a smirk.

“Are you going to look at me all night like you want to eat me alive?”

Nate’s hands shot out to grasp her wrist in such a quick fashion that Ciara looked stunned. Being a panther shifter made him more agile than most normal men. His quickness had saved his life on more than one occasion, but it also benefitted him in situations like this one where he wanted to make a point and catch someone off guard.  The feel of her skin against his was more than he could take, and the growl that he had been trying to stifle escaped.

“I am going to eat you alive,” he whispered, tightening his grip on her wrists. Her blue eyes widened. Though there was a hint of fear in her eyes, he also saw the desire, and that made him continue. “I’m going to bury my tongue in that sweet little pussy of yours until you come all over my face. I can’t wait to taste you.” She inhaled sharply at his words.

North was ready to brawl. In fact, he craved it like never before. Pain would be preferable to the ache in his heart. Somewhere along the line he began to see Eva as more than the sweet girl next door. Somewhere along the line he’d fallen in love.

What he didn’t understand was Colton’s sudden disinterest. Their feelings for Eva always mirrored each other’s. Half the time when he’d escape to the Ford house, Colton was already there. They’d come on the trip specifically to keep Eva out of trouble, but instead, his twin was turning a blind eye.

They ate dinner in silence. North watched the sky turn from blue to black, every darkening shade bringing his anxiety to a new level. She still wasn’t back. God knows what that cowboy was doing with little Eva. The thought of his filthy hands on her made his blood boil. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could sit still with his imagination running wild.

He was just about to bolt from his seat when the door to the trailer opened. Cool air flooded the interior and the sound of Eva clearing her throat made every live wire inside him suddenly lose power. He exhaled a nervous breath, glad she was at least home safely.

“Told you I’d be back in one piece,” she said as she hung up her cardigan. “There’s no need to go hunting me down. Seriously.”

She started to climb up into the loft.

“Where’s lover boy?” asked North, no humor in his tone.

“His name is Wade, and he just dropped me off, like a perfect gentleman.”

“That why he had his lips all over you?” asked Colton. His brother was just as unimpressed, even though he’d condoned the behavior.

“Hush you!” Eva slipped under the covers.

“You haven’t eaten,” said North.

“Wade bought me dinner.”

He ground his teeth together, stifling a growl. The sound of that man’s name on Eva’s lips made him see red. If he never heard the name again it would be too soon.

They secured the trailer and turned out the lights before joining Eva in the bed. He tossed his shirt and lay down on his back, staring up at the low ceiling. She was already comfortable, obviously not feeling the volatile energy keeping him awake. He kept as far to his side as possible, the cold wall of the trailer chilling his arm. Every time she shifted in the bed, he tensed.

“I’m cold,” she murmured, cuddling closer to him. The heat of her body scorched his bare skin. In a matter of days, everything changed for him. He wasn’t sure when it happened, but he wished he could go back to the way things were. Uncomplicated.

He tried to get away from her but he was trapped in the tight confines of the sleeping area. He held his breath as she ran her palm over his chest, over and over in small circles. Her touch had always been soothing—not so much anymore.

“What’s wrong with you?” she whispered against his neck. His eyes lolled back in his head. Even her fucking breath was sweet.

“Nothing. Go to sleep, Eva.”

“You’re acting weird, North. Is this because of Wade?”

He decided the cowboy was a safer topic than his changing feelings for her. “I don’t trust him.”

“Why not?”

“Just don’t is all.” He rolled to his side and away from her. It didn’t feel right going to sleep on a sour note, but he couldn’t have this discussion now. Mrs. Ford was the one to teach him and Colton not to speak out of passion. It was always best to confront a person with a level head, after cooling off and replaying the events over in your head. He usually didn’t take the advice, but tonight felt like a good time to start.

“Will you two quiet down,” said Colton.

Eva pressed her body against his back. Why had he taken off his shirt? He needed layers between them—many, many layers.

“I know what I’m doing,” she said in a whisper. “You don’t have to worry about me.”

“I’d worry less if you spent more time with Bessie and Ruby than that drifter.”

“He’s not a drifter.”

“Why you defending him?” he asked. “You act like you’re already an item.”

She kissed his shoulder. “I just want you to be happy for me, North.”

“It doesn’t matter what I think.”

“It does. You’re the one who taught me how to rope a calf, and even though it took me weeks to learn, you never got impatient. You protected me when Jameson’s dogs got loose.” She ran her hand delicately down his arm, her fingers lingering over the raised scars on his forearm. “You bought me a corsage when no boy asked me to prom. Remember when the three of us danced in the rain that night? My dress was covered in mud.”

“I remember.”

“Well those are just examples of why I love you so much. It doesn’t feel right doing anything without your blessing.”

He wasn’t sure he could ever give her what she wanted.

The Bear Project by Doris O’Connor

Guest Post

Thanks so much for having me here today. 🙂

I once read that you need to hook the reader within the first page, if not the first sentence. Clearly, this has stuck with me, because a lot of the times I have nothing but that first sentence in my head niggling away at me until I sit down and write the story.

In this case I’ve had that first sentence for ages…

“If he keeps you waiting, he’s not worth waiting for, sugar.”

****

Now, who do you picture saying that, as he bends down to whisper it into your ear? In my mind’s eye, I knew he was some sort of bad boy, with a deep south American accent, which meant my heroine had to be on holiday, because I always place my stories in the UK.

Ohh, a holiday fling?  No, a one night stand with a shifter, because I knew that’s who he was immediately. He was too intense to be anyone else, too intent on claiming her, and then there was that element of immediate danger…

****

“That’s really none of your business, now, is it?”

Emmi held her ground, and inwardly cursed at the heat climbing into her cheeks under his silent scrutiny. Microbes under the microscope were surely studied with less intensity than this sexy stranger was showing her. It was unnerving and far too arousing. Emmi crossed her arms over her chest to hide her nipples’ embarrassingly obvious reaction to his close proximity. However, there was nothing she could do about her knickers’ increasing dampness. She never reacted like this to any man, dammit. What did they put into the drinks around here? And more importantly what was she going to do, stuck in this bar, in the middle of nowhere?

“You’re wrong, you know.” He smiled, and Emmi’s pussy practically did the samba in response to that almost growl.

He dipped his head lower, until he was so close that their breaths mingled, and it took all of Emmi’s will power to not just close that distance and press her mouth to his firm lips.

“I am?”

Cole smiled in answer and ran just one finger along her jaw-line. The calloused pad left a trail of heated need in its wake, and Emmi found it difficult to breathe. The crowded bar faded into the background, until she was only aware of Cole.

“Yes, you are.”

“Why?” she asked on a shuddery exhale, and he tapped her nose with a sinful smirk, that had her insides tightening in need until she wanted to jump his bones. His delicious scent intensified. It called to her in an indefinable manner. It should be illegal for any man to smell so good.

“Because you’re mine.”

She is, you know—his that is. Emmi is Cole’s mate and this bear shifter will move heaven and earth to claim her. Nothing and no one will stand in his way, not the council, not his position, certainly not any rules or the threat to the bloodlines.

Nothing, but one small human called Emmi, that is.

Giving in to this insane attraction is all well and good, but that’s all it was. A moment of temporary insanity.

Back in the UK, she has a life to lead, her career. She is not going to throw all that away for a drifter, some dangerous rogue, who she has nothing in common with.

Well… you know that old saying. Never judge a book by its cover…

Cole Jackson is as far removed from her first impression as can be. Oh, he’s sex-on-legs gorgeous, dominant, and decidedly foul mouthed in the bedroom, but he’s also loyal, and protective and you really don’t want to cross him.

Far from the drifter he appears to be, he’s a man of wealth and position, and he’s here to stay, for however long it takes to convince Emmi that she’s his—come what may…

TBPBlurb:
When Animal conservationist Emmi Layne meets bad boy Cole Jackson there is no denying the instant lust between them. She has a thing for bears, after all.  However, you cannot build a relationship on awesome sex alone, especially when you live on different continents, and have nothing in common.

Everything changes, when Emmi discovers that their night of passion has left her with more than erotic memories. She has no means of contacting him, even if she wanted to, but she hasn’t counted on this bear shifter’s determination.

Cole is not what he seems, and he will stop at nothing to claim what’s his—even if that means breaking all the rules.

Can he trust the mating bond to deliver, or will it spell the end of an ancient blood line?

With the odds stacked against them, can this unlikely duo find happiness together?
Excerpt:
A moan slipped out from Emmi, and his balls drew tight in anticipation, as she, too, lost what cover his old shirt afforded her.  She licked her lips, her gaze riveted on his erection, and he grinned. A primitive sense of ownership grabbed him, and he bent down, and grabbing her ankles, pulled her down the bed until her ass was half hanging off it and he could step right between her legs.

This position opened her cunt for his inspection, and her scent grew in potency as her juices coated her pussy lips. Cole stroked himself harder in response to that sight, and she whimpered. That tiny sound pitched his need to claim her to new heights, but he wanted her begging for his cock and so wet and ready that she couldn’t stand it anymore.

A vision of keeping her like this, naked and at his mercy, filled his vision. Her curves would look so beautiful bound by Shibari rope, as she begged him for her orgasm.

His dick jumped at the thought, and he used the natural lubrication of his pre-cum to aid the ever faster up and downward glide of his hand.

“Cole, let me…”

Emmi looked up at him, her eyes so dark with her own need it took his breath away.

“No, I want to watch you come for me.” A fierce blush spread all over her skin at his husky words, and she bit her lips hard enough to draw blood. The metallic smell filled his nostrils, and his bear roared. “Use your fingers to spread yourself wider, so that I can see what you’re doing. Tell me what it feels like, and how much you want my cock, sugar.”

Emmi shivered and closed her eyes, but her hands did slowly slide down to the apex of her thighs.

“Use your words, baby. I want to hear you.”

“Oh God.” Her groan matched his when she spread her labia wide and circled her clit with one finger. The little nubbin swelled under her ministrations as all the blood rushed to the surface.

“That’s my girl. Fill your hole with your fingers, and imagine it’s my cock, sugar.”

Emmi complied, and the little needy sounds she made at the back of her throat were pure music to his ears.

“Words, Emmi, use them.”

“I … I can’t. I just … I want to come so badly. My fingers are not enough. I’m gripping them imagining they’re your cock filling me, thrusting in. I want you so badly.”

He growled, and she pumped her fingers faster until the wet sounds of her greedy pussy filled the room. The trembles started as her orgasm took hold, and Cole grabbed her thighs and took over.

Emmi screamed when his tongue replaced her fingers, and her essence flowed freely into his waiting mouth. His bear grunted his approval, and Cole blew against her slit and then bit down on her clit. The action sent Emmi over the edge, and he pushed two of his fingers into her clenching pussy hole. She rode those fingers as her whole body bowed off the bed and tightened before she slumped back down, moaning and writhing under his fingers and tongue.

Cole kept up his assault until the last tremors stopped and then crawled up her limp and sweat slicked body to kiss her.

“You’re not playing fair.” She mumbled the words and ran her hands over his chest, up to his shoulders and then down his back until she could reach his ass. With his body cocooned between her thighs, his cock slid up and down her wet slit and he indulged himself by thrusting into her just once.

Her cunt closed around him like a velvet fist, and Emmi pushed her feet into his calves and lifted up to meet his thrust. Their gazes locked when he pulled out and then pushed into her wet heat again.

“Oh, God, Cole, you’re driving me insane.”

His little human bucked against him, and her vaginal muscles clenched and released around his dick in an effort to hurry him along. It took all of Cole’s willpower and self-control to not simply give her what she wanted, but he withdrew again until just the tip of his dick remained inside her entrance.

Emmi shook and groaned and pleaded, and he ground his teeth to stop himself form coming.

“No, we’ll do this my way. Stop trying to hurry me, sugar, or I’ll tie you to this bed and leave you hanging.”

Her sharp intake of breath made him smile, and he paused half in half out of her sweet cunt, until he could nudge her sweet spot with short, shallow thrusts that had her luscious body climbing again. He could see it in the way her eyes clouded over, and her breathing quickened. Her fingernails scored his skin hard enough to draw blood, and Cole welcomed the slight pain, as he pushed her over that edge again.

“That’s my girl. Come for me again. Beautiful.”

He withdrew and flipped her over, so that she was bent over the side off the bed. With her knees on the floor, and her legs spread wide, her ass was there for him to play with, and Cole smacked one cheek and then pushed his fingers back into her vagina.

A rush of air escaped Emmi’s lungs, and she groaned into the bed covers and lifted her ass up to give him better access.

Cole rubbed his stubble along her shoulder blades and kissed her spine. A shudder went through her body, and she sighed his name when he withdrew.

“What, baby? Do you want me to spank you again?”

He delivered another open handed swat to her other cheek with enough force to leave a bright mark on her pale flesh as the blood rushed to the surface. His possessive bear urged him to do it again, to mark her body with his hands and claws and teeth, but the man needed to be sure she was on board with this.

“Yes, God, yes, please, Cole, anything. That feels so fucking good.”

Author Bio:

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris… at least that’s what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.
