Tagline: Temptation is a dish best served hot…

Series Name: Delicious Desires #2

Blurb:

Event planner Daisy Robles can’t remember a time when celebrity restaurateur―and celebrated playboy―Brandon Montoya didn’t make her nuts. His infuriating arrogance, his hotness…his undeniable sexual energy. One night and a whole lot of expensive tequila later, Daisy’s self-control is AWOL. And Brandon’s making her crazy in all the right ways.

When their tequila-fueled make-out session hits the tabloids, Brandon is furious. At least until he realizes his “relationship” with Daisy is his chance to get his ill mother to Los Angeles for treatment. All he has to do is convince Daisy to be his pretend fiancée for two weeks…

The deal? No sex and no falling in love. But all it takes is a little heat to find themselves in a deliciously compromising position…

Excerpt:

Brandon laughed even harder. So hard that she could see tears in his eyes. As much as she liked seeing his mood lift, she hated to be the source of his amusement. Familiar pricks of annoyance stabbed at the back of her neck. “I don’t see what’s so funny.”

“It’s just…you try to act like you’re this tough, independent woman, and it turns out you’re not so tough after all. It’s…satisfying.”

Her irritation shot to threat level orange. “Whatever. You’re not perfect either.”

“I never said I was.”

Daisy slapped a hand on the bar. “Are you kidding me? Your whole life is about projecting perfection. Your hair, this suit, your car…the women you date. I’d be careful if I were you, Brandon. If you date any more Barbies, the tabloids are going to start calling you Ken. And we all know what poor Ken was missing.”

She lowered her eyes to his crotch and Brandon followed them. Then his head snapped back up and his laser stare went straight to her lips. “Trust me. The Barbies have no complaints. But if you don’t believe me, I’m happy to prove it to you, since I know you’ve been wondering.”

Invisible flames rushed up her face, burning her with both embarrassment and lust. She knew it had been a bad idea to drink with Brandon. She’d become too loose, too comfortable. And—before they started talking about his mom—she had started to become a little turned on. Damn alcohol.

Still, there was no way in hell she would ever admit he’d come close to the truth. He’d make fun of her again. Or worse, he’d sleep with her and then in the morning do whatever he could to make the situation go away.

Daisy had been tossed aside by enough people in her life. She wasn’t about to add a celebrity restaurant owner to the list. “Sorry, buddy. But there’s not enough tequila in this world.”

She watched his jaw muscle tense and knew she hit a nerve. Then his expression relaxed. “Suit yourself,” he said with a shrug before finally downing his shot. “Anyway, we both know you’re not my type. I like my women a little less bossy.”

Angry, mortified, and tipsy, Daisy jumped off the stool and bent to pick up her shoes. She tried to think of one last snarky comeback to toss at him before storming out of the bar. But when she stood back up, she couldn’t even form the words. It wasn’t her temper that left her speechless—it was the sight, just beyond Brandon’s shoulder, of her ex and that bruja Ginger snuggling in a corner booth.

Brandon noticed her still standing there and waved his hand. “Hello? I thought you were leaving?”

Daisy dropped her shoes and quickly slid her stool out of the way so she could reach to pull his hand down. That’s when Luis caught her eye and waved. “Great. Just great,” she muttered. “Now he knows I’m here.”

“Who knows?” Brandon moved as if to turn his head to see who Daisy was staring at.

“No. Don’t look.”

But it was too late. Brandon looked and then Luis awkwardly waved at him, too. He whispered something in Ginger’s ear and she nodded. Daisy watched as her ex called the waitress over. Her stomach sank. They were going to come over for a chat. She knew it. It had been awful enough to have to fake a smile every time she ran into them during the reception. But now, with a few tequila shots in her, Daisy doubted she could playact one more time. She was fired up from the last rumble with Brandon, in more ways than one.

There was no telling what she’d do if that witch waved her gaudy ring in front of her again. It would be bad for her to make a scene, or worse, get thrown out for making a scene. How could she hope to plan another wedding at the hotel if the owners had a restraining order against her?

She needed a buffer. Something or someone to make sure that she didn’t make a complete ass of herself.

That’s when the most ridiculous idea popped into Daisy’s head. So ridiculous she had to cover her mouth to stifle the giggle threatening to erupt. The man was dealing with the news that his mom had cancer. He’d probably never go for it. But as she watched Luis pay his tab, her ridiculous idea started sounding better and better.

“Kiss me,” she blurted to Brandon as Luis and Ginger stood up from their table.

Brandon choked on the drink he’d just taken. “Excuse me?”

“Look, I hate being that girl but, screw it, I am. So kiss me.”

“You just said there wasn’t enough tequila in the world.”

“Yeah, well. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Kiss my lips. Now.”

“Desperate? Forget it. You’re crazy if you think I’m going to kiss you after you just insulted me.”

“Oh my God. Would you do something useful with that tongue of yours for once and kiss—”

Brandon pulled her toward him and kissed her—hard—and his mouth swallowed up the rest of her sentence. At first, she was too shocked to kiss him back. Her eyes had been focused on Luis and Ginger walking toward them. But as Brandon’s warm tongue pressed forward, seeking entry, she no longer saw anything or anyone. She opened to him and he released a low groan that weakened her knees. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he pulled her further into his chest. Her heart thumped madly as the rest of her body hummed with desire.

Holy hell. She wanted Brandon. Bad.

The sound of someone clearing his throat jerked her back into consciousness and she pulled her tongue of Brandon’s mouth. Their eyes met briefly and the desire reflected in his gaze sent another blast of heat through her. She turned away so as to not melt into his arms one more time, and faced an uncomfortable-looking Luis and an open-mouthed Ginger.

“Oh, hey guys. Are you heading home now?” She tried to sound nonchalant despite the fact Brandon had pulled her backward until she stood between his legs and hooked one of his arms around her waist.

“Yeah. We decided to have one last nightcap,” Luis said. He smiled at her but his eyes fell on Brandon.

The two couples stood there in silence for a few seconds before Luis reached out his hand to Brandon. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Luis Arroyo and this is my fiancée Ginger Soto.”

Brandon uncurled his arm from Daisy and shook Luis’s hand. “Good to meet you. I’m Brandon Montoya, Daisy’s boyfriend.”

Pure Adrenaline

I’m so excited to say that my short story Pure Adrenaline is now out and available.  I had so much fun writing this story and being able to share it with you all.

The story actually came about when I saw a call in early 2012 for short story submissions from a well known publisher of GLBT erotic romances.  I turned it in but it wasn’t accepted.  Now some would ask why I didn’t trash the story.  Because as the one thing I’ve learned is you never get rid of anything you write because you can always use it some where else or make it better. I also believed that Julian and Pierce’s story should be told.  So, when I had to work on a story for my fiction writing class I chose PA to work on.  I loved the story and I wanted it to see the light of day.

I worked hard on it and expanded it from it’s original 3000 words to over 4000 for the class.  It did well in the class and once I was finished with the class I knew that I needed to add at least 3000 more to it if I wanted to get it published with Boroughs Publishing Group.

When I got the acceptance letter I was over the moon.  What this has taught me is of course nPure Adrenalineever give up, hone the story and that sometimes not getting an acceptance is the best.  It allowed me to honor Julian and Pierce’s love.

I hope you enjoy their story as much as I enjoyed writing it.  Remember always that “Love is Love.”

Blurb:

We all have fears, but sometimes, as Julian Northridge and Pierce Wilde are about to learn, all it takes to affirm true love and an explosive physical connection is…pure adrenaline.

Excerpt:

He pulled up to their house and smiled. Pierce was home, his car still in the driveway. All Julian could think about as he sped up the walkway was that his man was either still in bed or in the shower. He could picture Pierce now. His blond hair plastered to his head, bright green eyes closed as he scrubbed his body with soap, and that thick cock of his hard from his morning wood. Truly, there never was a time that Pierce didn’t have morning wood. Both thoughts made Julian’s cock twitch with delight and anticipation. He hoped that Pierce wasn’t still too angry to show affection, that he would reject Julian’s touch.

Life was too short; he needed to make up with his man, and he would.

He entered the small house and grinned. He could hear the shower going. Perfect, he’d take off his clothes, get inside the shower with the man he loved, and have a quickie or two. Fuck that. He was going to make love to that man like nobody’s business.

Soundtrack for “The Geek and His Artist” by Hope Ryan

Hello folks! First, let me thank Nikki for giving me blog space today! I really appreciate the opportunity to stop by.

Every story I write has a soundtrack. The number of songs on the playlist varies—partly because some stories require more, but sometimes there just aren’t as many that apply. When I sat down to put the list together for The Geek and His Artist, I had to really think about what to put on the list.

I have a rather eclectic taste when it comes to music. But I tend to stick with bands like Godsmack, Nickleback, Linkin Park, and the like. I realized, however, that my teenagers in Geek aren’t necessarily going to listen them. So what, then, did I put on this list?

Well, I went first to my oldest son, who was closest in age to Jimmy and Simon—and who would likely have musical taste closer to them. He asked me what kind of guys Jimmy and Simon and their friends were, what were they like and then gave me an interesting list of possibilities. I whittled them down a bit to come up with the playlist I have here.

A few of the songs have special significance to me. As a bisexual, I sometimes get frustrated when I don’t see them represented in media. In Geek, I have two bisexual characters (side characters who will likely get their own story): Sean and Kip. So, when I came across the Panic! At The Disco song, Girls/Girls/Boys, I was thrilled.

Another of the songs that really resonated with me because Simon’s theme song. Now, there have been a few versions of this out there, but the rendition of “Mad World” I like the most comes from Gary Jules. The music, the tempo, all of it really makes me think of Simon’s sad, confused, lonely world.

Watch it here:

Simon Williams spends his lunch periods drawing his geek and trying not to think about the terrors waiting for him at home. He needs to get away from his abusive father before he suffers the same grisly fate as his mother. Because he’s learned the hard way running away doesn’t work, he’s counting the days until his eighteenth birthday.

Jimmy Bennet should be spending his lunch studying so his senior GPA is good enough to get him into college, but he can’t seem to focus thanks to his distracting artist. When he’s given the opportunity to tutor Simon in Trig and discovers Simon’s home-life nightmare, he wants nothing more than to get Simon out of danger. This need becomes more urgent when Simon comes to school the Monday after their first date with bruises, but it takes a broken leg before Jimmy can convince his boyfriend the Bennets really want him.

But the danger Simon thought was past shows up at the most unexpected time, and he must stand up to the fears he’s held so long to protect not only himself, but the man he wants to spend his life with.

The war for equality doesn’t need that kind of liability. Justice has a hard past but when his life’s in danger, only one man comes to his rescue and he sure wasn’t expecting it to be the flirty white guy.

Can Romeo handle Justice’s tongue and teeth?

Be Warned: m/m sex, multiple partners, rimming, orgies

Excerpt:

“I want to eat you up with my tongue and teeth.”

He nibbled on the skin. Pulses of pain skidded up my nerves. Justice fisted my shirt and tore the fucking thing in half. Actually, pulled it apart. Seams popped until it was only on my arms. I laughed, lifting so he could pull the tattered shirt off me.

“I want you hungry for me.” I kissed his nose. It seemed stupid afterward but at the moment it felt right. Justice smiled, pushing me to my back. He straddled me. I felt his thick erection against my torso. Why was he still wearing pants? Why was I? Justice rubbed his lips over my collarbone. He kissed my chest, one pec then the other. I stared down, watching him as his tongue slid over the skin just above my right nipple. I had no hair, which meant I could truly feel every ripple of his taste buds. He opened wide and his teeth scraped along my flesh. In that same spot, he kissed and then took my nipple into his mouth. He teased the flat bud and then closed his teeth around it. The sharp pain was mild, but it sent my hips jerking upward.

I was already growing and this just made me lengthen faster. He let go of me and moved to my other pec. Justice sucked on the skin here, taking some flesh into his mouth and then he bit down. It wasn’t enough to break the skin but damn close. I gasped as the sensation turned to pain then back to pleasure. “Too much?” “No.” The fact that he asked made me smile. He cared. I wasn’t just some random fuck. I still wasn’t sure where I stood with his VP, but that was for another conversation. Right now, I wanted to do the least amount of talking and the most about of groaning. Justice bypassed that nipple and moved to my torso. He outlined each curve of my ab muscles with his tongue, then dipped into my belly button.

He took the top section of flesh between his lips and gave that a bite. I felt the pressure of his teeth as they pressed into my flesh. When it became too much, I cried out, “Damn!” I was breathing heavily. That had hurt but so damn good. Who knew the big black man was into biting? And I fucking liked it. “Pants. Off.” He practically grunted the words. I lifted my hips up, tugged the pants over my ass cheeks and down as far as I could, but he was still straddling me. Justice stood up on the bed. He stared down, watching me as I removed my jeans and threw them. My dick was hard between my legs. It swelled at the tip, showing off my blushed penis head and the long shaft covered with delicate skin.

“Take mine off too.”

I was sitting up, reaching to unbutton his pants. Wouldn’t want to hurt his goods. I slid them down his thighs and stopped to marvel at the sight. Justice naked was damn near breathtaking. All that dark flesh, his hard dick curved and his balls hanging like treats. Justice placed his hand on my shoulders and I removed one of his legs from the pants then the other. Just like that, we were both naked. I kept having flashes of our last time nude and the promises he made. I’d never been so excited to have sex before. Yeah, I loved orgasms, but with Justice it was different. It wasn’t about the climax but how we got there.

Blood Witch by Naomi Clark

BloodWitch-evernightpulishing-jayaheer2015-finalimage

I think one of the fun and frustrating parts of being a writer is that the idea you start out with is often not the story you end up with (or is that just me?). BLOOD WITCH is a prime example.

Blurb:

Lola Guntram is used to being an outcast. She’s the only blood witch in Fort Rosser, mistrusted by other witches and happier working solo. But when her dark practices make her the prime suspect in a brutal murder investigation, she’s forced to turn to others for help. Not that she has many allies – her ex-girlfriend thinks Lola is the killer, and the local coven leader thinks Lola will corrupt them all if she gets too close.

Help comes in an expected – and alluring – form. Tristesse is a demon on the run, beautiful, enigmatic, and suspiciously keen to assist Lola while she chases down the real killer. How can Lola refuse? With the police breathing down her neck, accusations flying, and inhuman monsters on the streets, Lola needs all the help she can get. The killer is angry, desperate, and determined. But so is Lola Guntram. And she doesn’t care how dark or bloody the magic has to get – she’s going to stop them.

This novella started out as a way to keep myself occupied during my Christmas break last year, and turned into a labor of love. It’s also turned out to be a bit of an exquisite corpse, in the sense that it’s a patchwork of ideas and characters from other projects I started and abandoned in the past. Some facts:

1. The opening scene is an adaptation of something I scribbled in a notepad before work one morning. A witch (then called Lilah) was being interviewed by the police. At that point I had no idea why and I never wrote any more. I did steal that opening and turn Lilah into Lola for BLOOD WITCH.

2. The start of chapter two, where Lola visits her ex-girlfriend, Rowan, started life as an urban fantasy parody I was writing to amuse myself. It was supposed to be part of a really OTT cliched UF story, but I ended up taking it too seriously (as I am prone to do) and decided to make it part of BLOOD WITCH.

3. One of the side characters, Caleb, was originally a secondary character in a paranormal romance I was writing a few years back. I got about 20k in before realizing I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I liked Caleb and decided to work him in somewhere else.

BLOOD WITCH has come a long way from my initial idea of a short story about a witch falsely accused of murder. That core idea is still a big part of the story, but the world has grown beyond my plans and I now see this as the start of a series instead of a stand-alone mini project. I’m so glad my original plan changed so much because now I get to explore and share a whole new bunch of ideas and characters with you!

Excerpt:

Once home, she returned to her books. Now she had a definite symbol to look for, she was able to narrow down the search of her considerable library. In a battered tome called Symbols, Sigils, Signs and Seals, she finally found it. She barely remembered buying the book; most likely she’d picked it up secondhand somewhere, mentally added it to her “to-read” pile and forgotten about it. She’d always bought far more books than she’d ever get round to reading.
Still, there it was in plain black ink on the yellowed page. The same sigil she’d seen on Isako’s floor. It wasn’t alchemical, as she’d first thought, although it shared the typical sparse lines and deceptive simplicity. The language of alchemy was really just a form of shorthand, indicating herbs, liquids, and equipment. This sigil, according to the text, could be broken down into several smaller ones, but combined together like this, it meant just one thing. A word. A name.
Gehenna.
Hell.
Lola rubbed her scars, tracing the lines of countless spells cast, immeasurable energy drained and used. She’d cast spells for self-confidence, spells of attraction. Spells for good luck, spells for decision-making. Once she’d spent almost twenty-four hours casting a spell that wove together blood and fire magic to help a client take revenge on her rapist. That was dark magic, made of dark intent no matter how worthy the cause. That was the only time she’d broken the “harm none” rule, and she didn’t regret it. That was the kind of magic the Choir thought was just the tip of the iceberg with Lola. It was the hardest spell she’d ever worked, the grayest, and absolutely the most satisfying.
It was nothing compared to this sigil and what it meant.
Gehenna. There was only one reason, the book stated, that you would write this symbol as part of a spell, and that was to open a doorway. Write it in freshly-spilled blood and you weren’t just opening it, you were kicking it down. With someone else’s freshly-spilled blood…
Lola set the book down, stomach churning. She had to tell Yvette.
But what could Yvette do? This was way outside the Choir’s comfort zone. Fuck that, it was outside Lola’s comfort zone. This was bigger than elemental magic, bigger than blood magic, and bigger than motive Lola could have guessed at.

This was demonology.
Murder was just the beginning.

Naomi likes writing, perfume, fancy tea, and unfathomable monsters from the dark spaces between the stars, not necessarily in that order. She has been writing stories ever since she learned how to write, but is still trying to master the art of biography writing. When she’s not dealing with werewolves, demons, or sea monsters, she’s hanging out with her cat and probably watching a documentary about Bigfoot. Panther Magic by Doris O’Connor with a giveaway

You know that old saying… A picture speaks a thousand words. Never is that truer than when your muse is a very visual creature like mine is. Hot men get her going every time, and this story is no exception. I had no intention of writing this story in fact, until, my search for a Mancandy birthday pic for a friend let me to these two hunks.

zeb an arran

Image provided by Doris O’Connor

Incidentally, if anyone knows who these two are, please let me know in the comments J

Where was I? Oh yes… My friend loved the pic, and some light hearted banter occurred. Was she going to have one or two…. Separately or at the same time…

*grins*

Her husband chirped up saying it sounded like one of my books, and just like that Zeb and Aran Harris jumped into my head, and wouldn’t leave me alone until I told their story.

And, trust me, having not one but two Alpha, Panther Shifter, Doms in my head, I did as I was told—fast!

I’ve learned long ago, never to argue with my characters, especially the Doms. No, sirreee, this little subbie does as she’s told in those circumstances.

You can’t say the same about the heroine of this story, Kate. Experienced submissive she might be, but as those in the lifestyle will know, that certainly doesn’t equal doormat, and Kate is one feisty human.

Kate does not believe in magic, and using animals in their act is just cruel, and she’s not afraid to put that point across. In the end—of course—resistance is futile.

She can’t resist the combined dominance of Arran and Zeb, and when they do get together they ignite the pages.

Prepare to laugh, cry, and fear for them all, when that dreaded council gets involved…panthermagic1m

Blurb:

There’s no such thing as magic…

Kate doesn’t believe in it, let alone the panther sort Arran and Zeb Harris are famous for. Using animals in their act is just downright cruel. If only she could convince her libido of that. Instead she seems to have fallen head over heels in lust with those sex-on-legs twin brothers. Getting laid will cure this, surely?

When panther shifters Arran and Zeb scent their mate, they know they’ll have a fight on their hands. The delectable human morsel might be submissive, but Kate has spirit, never mind the small matter she has no idea shifters exist.

They want her submission freely given and not forced upon her by the mysterious mating bond. However, when their panthers kill while rescuing Kate, that bond might well be the only thing to keep them alive.

It’s up to Kate to save her Sirs.

Adult Excerpt:

“Sirs, are we going to play—now?” The words came out hesitant, but her breathing sped up when Zeb walked toward her and placed the end of his crop under her chin to nudge her head up. He slowly ran it along her throat, rested it on each of their bite marks and then trailed it along her collarbone and into the valley of her breasts.

“I thought we might, unless you have any objections?”

Kate shook her head and whispered a shaky, “No, Sir.”

“Good girl.” Zeb trailed the tip across her lace covered breasts, and over each nipple in turn, and Kate gasped and tried her best not to squirm.

Arran barely managed to hold in a groan of his own. It was incredibly erotic watching their girl reacting to his brother’s strokes against her flesh. Her skin took on the rosy glow of arousal, and her nipples firmed into hard buds that strained against the delicate blue lace covering them. Zeb nudged her knees apart further with his foot, and traced the tip of the crop over her quivering abdomen and down to her delectable wet pussy. The fabric covering her slit darkened further, and Arran’s nostrils flared as the sweet musk of her arousal filled the air. His cock jerked, and he stroked along his length to give himself some relief.

Zeb looked back at him and smirked, and mimicked Arran’s actions on his own dick. Kate licked her lips when she noticed, and moved toward Zeb, but he brought the riding crop down between her legs. It flicked across her wet slit, and Kate jumped and moaned. It was such a deep throated sound that Arran’s balls drew tight, and he fisted himself harder.

“Such a naughty girl we have. So wet for us already, so eager for a cock, aren’t you? Tell me, wildcat, how badly do you want my cock?”

Zeb took himself in hand more firmly as he spoke to her, and Kate’s gaze seemed riveted to the action of his hand going up and down his shaft. Arran fisted himself faster, as Kate’s pink little tongue dipped out and licked her lips. Drops of pre-cum emerged from the tip of his cock, and he rubbed his thumb over his wet slit, and used the natural lubrication to fist himself harder. It felt way too good, and his grunt of pleasure brought Kate’s attention back to him.

Zeb laughed when he noticed.

“Or perhaps you want my brother’s cock?”

Kate looked between them, and she nodded.

“What’s that, girl? I can’t hear you. Which cock do you want? Mine or Arran’s, or perhaps you want both?”

Arran and Kate both groaned in unison, and Zeb’s grin deepened. His sadistic brother always did get a kick out of playing mind games, and seeing both Arran’s and Kate’s discomfort no doubt turned him on.

“Hmm, perhaps you’ll get your wish, and we’ll fill all your holes today. Would my little wildcat like that?”

A moan was his only answer, and without warning Zeb brought the riding crop down across her thigh. Kate yelped, and a red thin stripe appeared across her pale flesh immediately. Zeb repeated the action to her other leg, and tears sprang into Kate’s eyes, yet her sweet musk increased tenfold, and Arran’s beast near salivated at tasting the bounty between her legs.

“Yes, Sir, please, anything … I’m yours.”

Kate’s whispered reply was music to Arran’s ears, and Zeb winked at him.

“Good girl, you best start with my little brother then. He looks about ready to explode.”

Kate’s gaze sought Arran’s, and the love and need to please that shone out of her right now meant the world to him. She made to rise, but Zeb’s heavy hand on her shoulder stopped her.

“Who said anything about getting up, girl? I want you to crawl, and swing those hips and tits. Give Arran a show, and then suck him good. I don’t want to see a drop of his cum spilled, do you hear me?”

“Yes, Sir.” Kate’s eager reply and the speed with which she complied meant that Arran had to pinch the bottom of his shaft to stop himself from shooting his load like some inexperienced teenager. He was so fucking close already, and judging by the wicked grin on his brother’s face Zeb knew that, too. He mentally flipped his brother the finger, and then concentrated on the poetry in motion that was Kate crawling toward him. With an inherent grace that would have done any cat shifter proud she put one hand in front of the other, and slid her knees across the soft carpet, while swinging her hips from side to side.

Zeb’s face dropped, and he seemed unable to tear his gaze away from her ass. Zeb had always been an ass man, and seeing her pale globes so beautifully presented to him, had to be torture for his brother. Served the bastard right.

All conscious thought fled Arran’s brain when Kate reached him, looked up at him from under her naturally long eyelashes, and smiled.

“Sir? May I please suck your cock?”

Story Excerpt:

“Have you actually seen our act?” Arran’s softly spoken question took the wind out of her righteous sails somewhat, and she tried her best to glare at him, too, which lasted all of two seconds under his quiet regard. One eyebrow rose in query, and with his full mouth set in a grim line, he radiated disapproval, and she couldn’t bring herself to hold his gaze. Instead she shook her head, and she dropped it down to his muscle packed chest, which was not helping one iota. Wrenching her gaze upward again, she finally settled for staring at his jaw. Mind you, that, too, was far too distracting, covered as it was in designer stubble. It simply drew her attention to his strong neck and the way his Adam’s apple moved as he spoke, even more softly this time. There was no mistaking the edge to his words though that made her want to sink to her knees and apologize.

She once heard it said that a true Dom didn’t need to raise his voice, and she’d never truly understood that until this moment, and they weren’t even in a scene. Lord help her if they ever were.

“So, tell me, sweet thing, how can you form an opinion on how we treat the animals we use if you’ve never seen us in action?”

Kate wanted the ground to swallow her up whole. He had a point there, she guessed, but, bugger it all to hell and back if she was going to admit that.

She settled for shrugging her shoulders, and jumped when Zeb grasped her chin and thus gave her no choice but to look up at him.

“Give us the courtesy of looking at us when you condemn us without knowing all the facts, girl. Shrugging your shoulders like that is downright rude, and I think you know what happens to rude girls. If you think yourself safe from recriminations, because we’re in a public space, then think again. I have no compunction of putting you over my knee right now.”

Natasha’s loud gasp broke the tense moment, and Zeb smiled and released her as abruptly as he had grasped her.

“Sorry, Sir.” Kate had to murmur that quiet apology, when the loss of his touch on her skin left her curiously at sea. Approval flashed across his far too handsome features, and Kate got the oddest sensation when she stared into his eyes. They seemed to briefly flash to a soft, glowing yellow, before she blinked, and she looked back into their more usual warm chestnut.

“However, Sir,” she said and Zeb frowned and Arran gave a short laugh, and shook his head in what seemed to be wry amusement. “You are not my Dom. I have not agreed to a scene, and if you tried to put me over your knee in any way shape or form without my agreement, public space or not, I’d have you up for an assault charge faster than you can say poor mistreated cat.”

There, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Kate crossed her arms again, in an effort to hide her trembling hands, and focused on Natasha, instead of the two overbearing hunks in front of her. Despite her insides churning like clothes on a spin cycle, her lips twitched at the open mouthed expression on her friend’s face.

Talk about giving her a demonstration to prove the point that submissive didn’t equal doormat. They’d had that discussion only this morning on their way over to the spa. Then again, Kate was the first to admit that she was a rather bratty sub at the best of times.

“She’s got you there, bro.” Arran’s amused voice brought Kate’s attention back to him, and she lost herself in the smile he gave her. That smile alone would guarantee that most females would drop their knickers in an instant Not that she was most females, and besides she wasn’t wearing knickers. Bikini bottoms didn’t count, surely.

“I fear we’ve started off on the wrong foot somewhat, and for that I apologize, Kate.” He looked across at his brother and some sort of silent communication seemed to occur between the two men, because Zeb nodded, and he, too smiled, showing a set of even white teeth that must make his dentist very proud of him.

Kate groaned at her thought processes. This was beyond ridiculous, really. Why did these two get to her so much?

“There is an easy way of remedying this situation, however,” Arran said. “We would very much like to invite you to come and see one of our performances, as our VIP guests. You and Natasha both.”

He nodded at Natasha, and for the second time in the last few minutes, Kate’s friend looked as though she was going to have a heart attack.

“Oh, my, really? We’d love to come, wouldn’t we, Kate? Oh, this is so kind of you, really. Kate will be there, won’t you?”

It was on the tip of Kate’s tongue to deny this assumption, but the way Natasha implored her with her big feline eyes meant that she couldn’t, so instead she just gave a tight nod. Natasha’s squeal rang in her ears, and the two men’s tight shoulders relaxed. She hadn’t even noticed how tense they had become until that moment, and Kate briefly wondered why this seemed to mean so much to them, before she was pulled into a bear hug by Natasha.

“Thank you, you’ll love it, you’ll see.” Natasha’s whisper in her ear did nothing to quell the churning in her tummy when she looked across at the two men. Cat that got the cream sprang to mind, and she forced a smile on her lips, when Natasha finally released her, and Zeb and Arran made their goodbyes.

Heat flared up her arms when they both took one of her hands each and bending over them kissed them in an old fashioned gesture that made Kate want to swoon like a Regency heroine in the historical romance novels she liked to read.

“Until we meet again,” Arran said.

“I’ll look forward to your proper apology then, girl.”

Kate tried to snatch her hand away at Zeb’s outrageous words, but he held firm until she stopped struggling. Only then did he release her hand after he turned it over and dropped a lingering kiss on the rapidly beating pulse in her wrist.

With a smirk to send her bikini bottoms aflame he winked at her, and left her to stare after the departing forms of him and his twin.

To celebrate the release I’m giving away a $25 Amazon GC and two e-books from my back list. Entry via Rafflecopter.

Postcard Fiction-The Right Shade of Love

INT0400

Image bought and paid for at Hot Damn Stock ©2014

According to Wikipedia postcard fiction falls under the term micro fiction.  Micro fiction as you can guess has many terms for it such as micro narrative, short story, short short story, sudden fiction, postcard fiction, micro fiction, micro-story and short short.

Well in one of my classes at the beginning of this year we were challenged to write a postcard fiction story no more than 250 words.  I wanted to share with you my story.  I hope you enjoy it and comment and let me know if you liked this or not.  It is a sweet piece.  I do plan to continue to have fun with stories like this.

“Love is Love”

The Right Shade of Love

My God, we’d finally done it. We’d gotten past the negative comments of those saying that our love would never last and now here I stood next to my man as his Mrs. I was now Mrs. David Magee. If you’d have asked me a year or two ago would I have thought this would happen, I’d have said no. You see our love was never supposed to be. I come from what some consider the wrong side of the tracks and the wrong shade of skin. It didn’t matter to either one of us. We loved whom we loved. Besides we all bleed red don’t we? Our love happened and we embraced it fully. Today was a representation of our forever.

We continued to stare into each other’s eyes as if both of us thought the other would disappear if we blinked. When both our eyes started to burn and we couldn’t help but blink we did so together.

He leaned in close and kissed my lips again right, there in front of God and country and I held on for dear life, trying to stifle the moan that escaped at his wonderful touch.

He chuckled softly, “Save that for tonight.”

“Nope, I’m saving it for when we get inside the limo.”

He laughed out loud. “Race you there!”

“You’re on!” Grabbing my train, I ran down the aisle with his hand in mine with cheers from the crowd fluttering down as flowers paved the way to our forever.

Why I’ve Been Mostly Silent

50265920_00302_0135_XLargeI’m not sure how many of you know that I’ve been seriously busy with going to school to get my BA in Creative Writing and English with a concentration in Fiction.  I’m pleased to say that I actually graduated with honors on May 9th, 2015 from Southern New Hampshire’s University through their online program.  I started in April 2014 and will finish with my last two classes in July. It’s been a long year of missing some family things, doing homework late into the night all while working full-time and rearing two children by myself who are both in elementary school.  I plan to get start on my Master’s in July 2015.

Why is this a big deal to me you ask?

Well for one, I have a learning disability and I never thought I’d be able to finish and get my Bachelor’s degree let alone with a 3.9 GPA.  You see I was told at an early age by some that I’d never amount to anything.  That stuck for a long while until I decided in 2012 that I wasn’t going to be who those naysayers said I was.  I was going to see if I could get published or I’d stop saying I was a writer. I got published and after that I felt I could do anything I put my mind to.

Then in 2013, my life took another turn where I became a single mother to two amazing children.  I struggled for a bit, I was already busy with a full-time job, being a full-time board member for my local RWA chapter and raising my children.  Finally done with wallowing in self-pity (though most didn’t know that was what was happening as I was still writing, publishing and functioning) I decided to go to school.  I did my research to find a school that I could go to online so that I didn’t have to leave my children at night and because I don’t drive (but that’s another story).  I found Southern New Hampshire University and it was insta-love.

It was the best thing I’d ever done.  Going back to school though granted I was scared I knew in my heart this is what I needed to do for myself and my children.  I love writing and I want to teach Creative Writing to college students.  The only way to do that is to go to school.  Honestly, at first I thought I’d just be going for my BA.  I wasn’t even sure how well I would do.  Now I can truly say I’m addicted.  I love school, yes it is hard but it is also proof that even with my learning disabilities I can do this.

I will be the first to tell you that reading is the reason my academic life is going so well now.  My learning disability used to be in all areas of school.  But once I started reading that disappeared to only leave me with a learning disability in math.  I’m proud to say I got a B+ in my math two terms ago by working extra hard.  Me!  The girl who didn’t think she’d ever pass math.  I was pleased to be inducted into the National Society for Leadership and Success’s, Alpha Sigma Pi and into the International English Honor Society’s, Sigma Tau Delta.

I said all of this to say, to you my readers my author friends and even those visitors that happened upon this site by accident…keep going.  No matter what someone says to you.  You can do it, I can do it, we can do it. I may go silent again…but it is only because I’ll be in the Master’s program reaching for the stars.

What is the one thing you’d like to do in your life, but haven’t?

Guest Author: Tempeste O’Riley: Breaking through the walls we build

Good morning! *waves* Today I’d like to tackle a little topic… homophobia. Well, honestly, it’s not just the gay part that I’m speaking of, but homo/bi/trans/gender/etc. As you’ll see in my guest spot below, it’s a personal issue, not simply one that I feel strongly about for others. There’s more to the story, of course, such as one of my children being bi, another being gender fluid, and another being asexual, but the point remains the same, no matter what person I’m fighting for.

I’ve taken some of this and used it in my novels—Temptations of Desire has a bi man and a genderfluid person fall in love. Both characters have been shunned, dumped, and hurt in many ways because of who they are… who they love…. how they present to the world. Truth in Lace is where Lexie, the genderfluid character above, first begins to embrace the shift and flow of gender, thank to the help of his twin (Truth is a short, not a full novel).

Now, on to my slightly rambling but truly heartfelt post….

ho·mo·pho·bia noun \ˌhō-mə-ˈfō-bē-ə\
Definition of HOMOPHOBIA:
An irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals

* The same goes for biphobia, transphobia, and so much more.

Yes, you read that right. The official definition says it’s an irrational fear or aversion to US. To people being whom they were born to be. And while I’m not sure I agree (hate isn’t fear, it’s being an ass hat and hiding behind religious, societal, etc. excuses to hate, abuse, and even kill others) I will thank the dictionary for admitting that it’s irrational.

We as a society do the most harm to the individual. It’s that simple, yet it’s so much more than that. Humans like things in boxes. The problem is that so many people don’t fit in those boxes, the ones that others deem acceptable or real. Yes, we even argue over which boxes are valid, not just which ones we want to accept as okay.

I have to say a big Hell No to those that try to not only put me in boxes, but also tell me which boxes are real. I was recently asked what it is that draws straight women to read M/M books and I had to answer that I had no clue as I’m not either of those things. I am a omnisexual/pansexual (even less believed in that being bi :/ ) and genderfluid person. I happen to have been born with female bits, but that does not mean that’s who or what I am.

Boxes are things I both love and hate. Love them for storing things; hate them when others try to classify me. I’m not homosexual enough, being bi/omni/pan. I’m not straight enough, being bi/omni/pan. I’m not male enough, being I have girl parts. I’m not female enough, being I have many, many male days. I’m not trans as I have many girl days. I’m not cis, as… I have many boy days. And then you have those that don’t believe Bi even exists (your belief in me does not invalidate my existence, I promise).

Now, my experiences may skew my worldview, but from others I’ve met, the political fights going on across this, and many other countries, and the thousands of blogs and people out there, I don’t believe I’m unique. Instead of boxes and walls, we need to focus on the individual. Why does the body matter so much to others? And why do others feel they have the right to categorize, and then often dismiss, others?

Don’t assume what the person you are speaking to or about is what you think they are. That beautiful woman may be struggling because her body isn’t what matches her mind and spirit. That handsome man may have been born a woman. That pretty boy you assume is a gay twink might just be a straight man. And that big butch man? Yeah, he just might be a happy, dedicated bottom.

We build the walls that imprison us, and only we can make the change needed to tear them down. Take a moment to look around you and check out the walls and boxes you live in. Are they right? Are they restrictive? Do they even truly match who you are inside?

We are many individuals, not one singular society. We have many hearts and lives, not one collective experience. Never allow yourself to be placed in a box or hidden behind a wall—that goes for the boxes and walls we build ourselves. You can only be who you are, to be anything less would be to betray your very soul. Never let others (or self) force you to be something you are not.

We are individuals. We are people who have hearts and souls. We love, laugh, live, fight, and die. But we are not merely the labels others give. I am who I am, and that’s enough for me. If it’s not for others, that’s their loss as I will not hide my soul or allow others to hide it for me.

Wicked Flower by Carlene Love Flores

Hi there! So happy to have landed at Nikki’s sexy cyber home. The Sin Pointe men are putting their bags down which gives me a moment to thank lovely Miss Nikki and tell you a bit about why I’m here today. We’re on tour! My offering today is a man whose name is Stefan Calderon and he’s the bass playing lead singer of Sin Pointe. He’s been very patient while his band-family got their books. Now, his story, Wicked Flower, is finally here! It is the fifth book of the series and the first to be rated erotic rather than just romance so thank you, Stefan, for that hotness. To celebrate its release as well as the series as a whole, I got the idea to share some favorite “Stefan Moments” from the books at each blog tour stop. Today’s comes from Book 2, Sin’s Flower. Here, sisters Trista and Lily are doing anything they can not to talk about Lily’s secret relationship with Jaxon which means her very public crush on Stefan is the best bet. Please enjoy, from Sin’s Flower

Tris nodded but added, “I’m sorry, Lily. I just feel so protective of you. I want you to find someone who is going to light up your life and make everything good.”

Funny how she knew her sister was making a case against Jaxon but those were the exact ways he’d made Lily feel that week.

“I understand.” She’d wanted to ask for some mutual trust but stopped short and instead tucked Tris’s warnings about getting involved with Jaxon into her heart’s back pocket.

Hey, there was one safe guy who Lily knew she could honestly gush over. “How freaking hot is Stefan Calderon?” she asked Tris with a poke.

Streamers may have well shot from cannons. “Oh lordy. You have serious issues, child. Stefan Calderon is a handful of hot-mess.”

“I know! That’s why I have his face on my pillow. Tell me more about him, please?” she pleaded.

Tris went on to lavish many details about the sexy lead singer of Sin Pointe onto her and she soaked up every bit.

And here is the Wicked Flower blurb:

Sin Pointe front man Stefan Calderon is playing a very dangerous game and his mom’s live-in caretaker, Dani Foster, just landed right smack in the middle of it.

Practically strangers when Stefan rolls into his small hometown looking to patch things up with Mom, his and Dani’s worlds collide with a hot and intense hook up. He knows right away this woman will make the perfect partner for his two weeks in town. But when she realizes whose son he is, and what he’s there to do, sexy times come to an abrupt halt.

That is until they come up with a solution. Rules. Every game needs them. The question isn’t if they’ll break them, but when and how hard.

It’s a wickedly delicious game, one neither of them intends to lose.

Thanks for letting me share with you today. If you’d like to spend more time with Stefan in his own book, you can find Wicked Flower at these lovely places:
