Honorable Mention in a Flashfiction Contest!

I decided to write a flash fiction short (it had to be 100-250 words) and play along with other fabulous authors on Siobhan Muirs blog for her #thursthreads.  The guest judge was none other than the fabulous Louisa Bacio!  If you haven’t read Siobhan Muir (http://www.siobhanmuir.com/) or Louisa Bacio (http://louisabacio.com/), I highly recommend them.  As I was saying, I entered with some other fabulous authors and got some great feedback and an honorable mention!  The prompt was: “That makes two of us.”  That sentence had to be incorporated into the story.

Here’s my entry below it is 249 words:

My God, we’d finally done it. We’d gotten past the negative comments of those saying that our love would never last and now here I stood next to my man as his Mrs. I was now Mrs.  David Magee. If you’d have asked me a year or two ago would I have thought this would happen, I’d have said no. I come from what some consider the wrong side of the tracks and the wrong shade of skin. We loved whom we loved. Besides we all bleed red don’t we? Our love happened and we embraced it fully. Today was a representation of our forever.
We continued to stare into each other’s eyes as if both of us thought the other would disappear if we blinked. When both our eyes started to burn and we couldn’t help but blink we did so together.
“I’m happy. ” I said as I looked into his baby blues.
“That makes two of us.”
He leaned in close and kissed my lips again right, there in front of God and country and I held on for dear life, trying to stifle the moan that escaped at his wonderful touch.
He chuckled softly, “Save that for tonight.”
“Nope, I’m saving it for when we get inside the limo.”
He laughed out loud. “Race you there!”
“You’re on!” Grabbing my train, I ran down the aisle with his hand in mine and cheers from the crowd fluttering down as flowers paved the way to our forever.

Guest Author Louisa Bacio-The Wolf Tombstone

The Wolf Tombstone

No stone left unturned.

Click. Sometimes stories come together. As a writer, I push forward, waiting for those minor points of validation, where I’m told that what I’m doing is right. And, there have been times when the universe gives me a nod of approval.

Right before visiting New Orleans for the first time, I started writing my erotic paranormal series The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf. I had an idea of the location of the bookstore Pages, and other elements. Still, I wasn’t prepared for all the connections, and for how much I would be drawn to the city.

On that first visit, we hit up many of the regular tourist activities, including ghost and cemetery tours. The most well-known city of the dead is St. Louis #1, which is supposed to be the final resting place of Marie Laveau, the queen of Voodoo. On my second visit to the Big Easy, we ventured out with tour groups to a few other cemeteries.

Sun high in the sky, beating down on us, our group walked through the above-ground tombs. A few found solace in the shade of trees. Then I saw it: The Wolf Tomb. I had no idea Wolf was one of the local family names. How perfect for the city where my werewolves lived.

At that point, some aspects of my series shifted. My main character Trevor Pack was a werewolf, without direct knowledge of his father. Now, I had a connection – Wolf.

Seeing that mausoleum became the stepping stone for my most recent novel The Wolfe Pack. In it, Trevor’s sister Silver leaves the French Quarter behind in order to find her father. Her future is destined by fate.

Take an Online tour of New Orleans cemeteries through NOLA Cemeteries.

Tell me: Do you believe in coincidences? Does this connection add another layer to the story?

Here’s a look at a new release:

The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf 4: The Wolfe Pack

Silver Ashe can’t let go of the desire to find her birth father and the urge to join a pack. Against the wishes of her brother, Trevor, and her vampire-lover, Nick, Silver leaves New Orleans for the woods of Louisiana.

As the guard and a dominant member of the Wolfe Pack, Viktor isn’t too sure of the city-dwelling stranger who comes trespassing. With the lack of female werewolves, Viktor soon sees Silver as a potential mate. Too bad she’s already spoken for by a bloodsucker.

Trapped between worlds, Silver’s faced with choosing between the lover she’s known most of her life, and the budding relationship with Viktor, where her future may lay. It’ll take some sweet talking and a whole lot of loving for Silver to find her place within the pack.

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop- November 28

I was invited by Louisa Bacio to join this blog hop and I have invited three more authors.  Please make sure to stop by her blog and show her some love as well.

Leave a comment for your chance to win a e-copy of Demon Mine!

Here are the questions—

What is the working title of your book? Demon Tempted (#2 in the Karmic Lusts Series)

Where did the idea come from for the book? It’s the second in the series and while I was writing the first the idea for a series came up.

What genre does your book fall under? Interracial Paranormal Erotic Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie? Hmm you know what not entirely sure. Clay Quinones is a hot Latin male and Eva Jackson is a beautiful bad girl that people loved to hate in the first book. Kerri Washington was the inspiration for Eva when I was writing and Franky G was my inspiration for Clay.

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book? Eve has been a bad, bad girl.

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency/publisher? It’s going to Evernight Publishing

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? I did it for NaNoWriMo. National Novel Writing Month. It’s from November 1-30. Challenged to write 50k in a month. I wrote the story in 25 days. It was tiring and grueling but I am proud to say the story is at 51,595 words. Demon Mine was only 24,570.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Ohh it’s hard for me to compare. I try not to do that. I’ll let the reader do the comparing when the time comes.

Who or What inspired you to write this book? The whole what if Eve was the bad girl instead of of Lilith.

What else about your book might interest the reader? Loads of fun action this time. And a lot hotter than the first book.

Please stop by these fantastic authors blogs!
